Key Responsibilities
Compliance
- Serve as the regional compliance lead.
- Implement global compliance policies within the region.
- Provide DOA guidance to market teams.
- Develop and deliver compliance trainings for vendors and employees.
- REIT reporting.
- Ensure that ATC's standard compliance template language is included in agreements with third parties, and review negotiated provisions requested by third parties, as needed.
- Oversight of regional OFAC checks.
- Risk management and reporting.
Ethics
- Conduct FCPA policy training (employees and vendors) and enable enforcement.
- Code of Conduct training (employees and vendors).
- Lead and oversee the ethics and compliance framework across African markets, promoting a culture of integrity, accountability and ethical business conduct.
- Coordinate and oversee ethics investigations, working with local legal teams, internal stakeholders and external advisors as required.
- Provide legal guidance on investigations, including confidentiality, privilege, remediation actions, evidence preservation and reporting obligations.
General Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess the performance of the compliance function.
- Build and track the function's KPIs and propose process efficiencies.
- Supervise and develop team members assigned to this function, ensuring they have the proper knowledge, skills and ability to perform effectively and efficiently.
- Answer queries from internal clients in a timely and efficient manner as they relate to compliance matters.
- Manage the function effectively and efficiently, prioritizing tasks and responding to company needs by implementing an organized, dynamic and planned agenda, including involving external lawyers when necessary.
- Supervise, motivate and lead team members, inspiring change, promoting ATC's culture and achieving the highest standards of delivery from the Legal team to the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Lead, develop and manage the Regional Internal Affairs team.
- Establish team objectives, development plans and performance expectations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Manage external counsel and service providers supporting the function.

Education
- Graduate degree in law required; licensed or admitted to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction.
- Postgraduate qualification or specialization in corporate law, international business or a related field preferred.

- 8+ years of experience in a multinational company preferred.
- 5+ years of experience as legal counsel in a multi-market role.
