MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

Responsible for Bancassurance product sales through lead generation, prospecting, sales conversion, cross-selling, and retention of existing insurance sales.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To promote and sell insurance products in the branch by identifying customer needs and driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies.
  • Actively participate in insurance sales activation programs marketing campaigns, roadshows, and customer awareness events organised by branch management and insurers in conjunction with the Manager Bancassurance.
  • Assess customer financial and protection needs, recommend suitable insurance products based on client profiles, and explain policy benefits, terms, and conditions clearly to clients.
  • Ensure timely policies renewals and premium collection.
  • Identify and report any potential risks or issues related to insurance sales and customer interactions.
  • Monitor the branch Insurance portfolio, to manage attrition and receivables, documentation, and policy anniversaries.
  • cross-sell insurance products with bank products to generate additional business for the bank.
  • Conduct presentations and sales meetings with customers to explain insurance products and benefits
  • Follow up with potential and existing customers to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Train and support branch staff on Bancassurance products, sales techniques, and compliance requirements.
  • Generate regular sales reports and performance metrics for management Explaining banking and insurance products and processes to customers.
  • Build customer relationships by providing after-sales services.
  • Comply with bancassurance regulations, AML/CFT/CPF policies and procedures, non -compliance of which shall be addressed as per the bank disciplinary processes.
  • Any other duty as shall be assigned to you from time to time.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, Management, or any relevant field.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications ie CIU, DIU etc

Experience

  • Experience in sales, preferably in Bancassurance or financial services, is an added advantage
  • Knowledge of the financial services industry, specifically insurance and Commercial banking.
  • Knowledge of both life insurance and general insurance

Behavioural competencies

  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective negotiation and execution skills.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.
  • Client-focused with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in English Language and any other local language, preferably Luganda.
