Brookside’s vision is to be the market leader in East and Central Africa for milk and milk products and be the benchmark in the industry in Africa. Our operations are focused in the processing of safe quality milk and milk products that meets the customer requirements. As we continue to grow and uphold our commitment to excellence, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Sales and distribution team in the following role:
Role Purpose
Responsible for sales operation in your area of mandate and ensure that the whole range of Brookside Limited products are handled by the relevant trade at the most efficient cost in order to achieve the sales and profit goals of the company. Supervision of sales supervisors, route sales persons and trade market developers and related tasks as per agreed guidelines/ provisions.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Job holder must possess business related degree from a reputable University with emphasis on sales or marketing or business.
- Prior 5 years’ experience in sales/marketing in fast moving consumer goods.
Competencies/Abilities/Skills/Knowledge
- Good computer knowledge
- Demonstrated experience in managing and directing a sales team.
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy.
- Excellent communication skills that sets the bar for internal and external partnerships.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Positive, confident, self-motivated and able to work as a member of a team.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Ability to see opportunities and translate into sales
- Ensure to achieve agreed sales targets and growth objectives in your area.
- Ensure agreed products distribution and range selling is achieved
- Ensure to set and communicate sales targets for supervisors, salesmen/ladies, distributors/ agents, Hyper, secondary supermarkets and convenient stores in your area. Targets should be communicated one week before the end of each month.
- Ensure to monitor team performance and working closely with them to achieve set targets.
- Ensure to carry out route visits/riding e.g. 3 routes per week and conduct field coaching/training.
- Ensure to Identify growth opportunities and recommend action plans for achievement.
- Ensure to achieve agreed cost control measures in all expense areas.
- Ensure to organize and steer monthly and/or quarterly agents/distributor training meetings.
- Ensure to organize and steer weekly tool box meetings with your team.
- Ensure to set up sales training programmes.
- Ensure proper management of outstanding/overnights and debt collection.
- Ensure a positive relationship is maintained with all sectors of the trade and co-ordinate all activities relating to the area in terms of effective control of:
- Timely deliveries.
- Promotional activities.
- Crates management.
- Returns management.
- Overnights and debt collection.
- Good computer knowledge
