Pride Bank Limited (PBL) was licensed at a Tier II Credit Institution by Bank of Uganda (BoU) in November 2024 and has a capital base of Ugx. 175.8 billion. Senior Finance Officer
The Senior Finance Officer will report to the Finance Manager and will be based at Head office. He/ she will be responsible for analysing data and preparing accurate reports in accordance with acceptable accounting principles, standards and practices to both internal and external stakeholders and as per standards governing Pride’s business operations.
Specific responsibilities include: -
- Prepare statutory and regulatory reports to ensure timely reporting to various stakeholders. Prepare reports in accordance with accounting principles and Pride Bank Ltd policies. Submission of financial reports to different stake holders.
- Supervise accounting operations. Review reconciliations prepared by subordinate staff and operations supervisor. Monitor and supervise financial transactions posted in the IT system. Sanction and approve staff liabilities and approve vouchers for cost control.
- Provide information to other departments and branches as well as for external and internal audit.
Provide reports to other departments, branches and auditors.
- Monitor and maintain the fixed asset register through monitoring of fixed assets across the network for adequate asset management and to ensure the safety of all bank fixed assets. Make certain that procured assets have been engraved, posted and registered in the IT system. Reconcile the assets general ledger and fixed asset register.
- Analyse IT system reports to ensure accuracy and reliability of data. Extract and review of general ledger reports for accuracy. Resolution of errors if any, found in the reports.
- Monitor performance and carry out periodic performance appraisals. Identify skills, competencies and gaps and recommend appropriate training and development.
Minimum academic qualifications, Experience & competences
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration or any other related field majoring in accounting/ finance
- ACCA, CPA Level 2
- Postgraduate qualifications are an added advantage.
