Responsibilities or duties

Reporting to Production Officer / Business Unit Manager, The Successful Candidate Will; Key Result Areas:

  • Allocate and monitor work assigned to subordinates to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to subordinates in the plant.
  • Monitor inventory levels and prepare requisitions for raw materials and spare parts.
  • Prepare and submit daily production reports accurately and timely.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance to ensure timely execution and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure efficient plant utilization while adhering to company quality standards and production planning.
  • Monitor worker performance during the production process, ensuring adherence to productivity and quality targets.
  • Enter production data into the Enterprise Resource Application database.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping practices are maintained in production area.
  • In consultation with the production Officer / Manager, determine and implement efficient production methods.
  • Ensure that the products are produced on time and meet quality standards.
  • Monitor the production process to ensure compliance with quality control programs.
  • Select and maintain equipment, working closely with managers to achieve company objectives.
  • Implement the health and safety guidelines to protect employees, materials and machinery.
  • Identify training needs and provide necessary skill development opportunities for staff.
  • Communicate business and company issues effectively to the line manager and foster a positive team spirit.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the PO / Manufacturing Manager / BUM.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Management or related discipline.
  • Good communication skills including reading skills.
  • An aptitude for math.
  • Physical strength and stamina.
  • The ability to work in high places.
  • The ability to get along well with co-workers.
  • The ability to keep up to date with changing technology.
  • Strategic Planning.
  • Team building skills.
  • Decision & problem-solving skills.
  • Planning skills.
  • Conform to environmental management system requirements.

Experience needed

2 Years relevant experience in a manufacturing or recycling plant, preferably in a supervisory role.
