Background information about the job or company:

We're hiring a skilled Farm Mechanic to maintain and repair farm machinery and equipment at Pearl of Africa Farm Uganda. The role involves ensuring all machines are serviced on time and always in good working condition.

Responsibilities:

• Carry out daily checks on all farm machinery (oil, fuel, coolant, and hydraulic levels).
• Work with machine operators to identify and fix mechanical issues quickly.
• Diagnose problems and repair or replace damaged parts as needed.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Prepare and submit daily reports on machine condition and breakdowns.
• Request spare parts when needed and ensure timely servicing of all equipment.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Ensure proper use of machinery by operators.
• Perform welding, grinding, and other repair tasks as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Certificate or Diploma in Heavy Equipment Mechanics or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with heavy machinery (tractors, dozers, excavators, graders, etc.).
• Ability to work independently in a rural setting and improvise when needed.
• Good attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Strong mechanical and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of engine systems, hydraulics, and diagnostics tools.
