To requisition, receive, store and issue office stationery, production materials, promotional items and all purchased items and ensure cost effective optimum stock levels are maintained in support of MPL's business objectives.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitors stock re-order levels and raises IPR's for optimum stock levels.
  • Follows up LPO's for stocks and liaises with procurement for specifications and deliveries.
  • Checks the delivered goods to ensure compliance with specifications, quality and quantities.
  • Receives the goods and files delivery notes from customers and updates bin cards accordingly.
  • Raises goods received notes in SAP and forwards to Finance department for invoice verification.
  • Issues required goods and items through approved SAP stores reservations from user departments

and makes the necessary bin card adjustments.

  • Receiving Newsprint at the warehouse.
  • Handling offloading of Newsprint and updating bin cards at the warehouse
  • Liaising with the URA customs officer to ensure availability of newsprint for use.
  • Transferring Newsprint to Head office stores and updating the records.
  • Issuing Newsprint and other production items to production through approved SAP stores reservations.
  • Working closely with clearing agent, Procurement Manager and Finance to ensure Newsprint taxes are paid in time.
  • Working closely with clearing agent to ensure timely clearance of Nation products and other items at the border.
  • Ensures that the store and warehouse are kept clean, orderly and that goods and items are easily accessible.
  • Takes stock count with Finance department at month end.
  • Ensure timely renewal of bonded warehouse license every year.
  • Verify and receive bundled & painted returns and verify the weights.
  • Verify and receive painted excess copies, wastage, and offcuts and used plates from production.
  • Safely store these returns and items from production in the store & later have them sold to the contracted buyers in the presence of security staff.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Academic: University Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management, Commerce, Business Administration or any other related field from an accredited institution
Professional: Professional qualifications in Procurement (CIPS).
Experience: 3 years' working experience in procurement preferably in an FMCG company.
