  • Job Title: Stores Clerk
  • Reports to: Chief Finance Officer
  • Number of Vacancies: 1
  • Department: Finance Department
  • Job Purpose: The Stores Clerk is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and recording materials, equipment, and other items in the warehouse. The role ensures that inventory is maintained at optimal levels and that proper stock control measures are followed to support the company's logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Specific Responsibilities:
    • Receive and inspect incoming goods, verifying quantities and quality against delivery notes or purchase orders.
    • Accurately update inventory records using accounting systems and/or manual logs.
    • Organize and maintain proper storage of goods to ensure easy access, safety, and cleanliness.
    • Issue materials and supplies as requested, ensuring proper authorization and documentation.
    • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile variances with system records.
    • Monitor stock levels and report low inventory or stock discrepancies to the Supervisor.
    • Assist in loading and offloading goods, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding inventory control and safety.
    • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the storage area.
    • Support periodic audits and stock verifications.
    • Collaborate with procurement, logistics, and operations teams to ensure timely stock replenishment and dispatch.
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree or diploma in engineering or a related field.
    • 2-3 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a similar role.
    • Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Office (Excel, Word).
    • Knowledge of stock control procedures, record-keeping, and best storage practices.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • High attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Physically fit and able to lift moderate weights.
    • Integrity and a strong sense of responsibility.
