Job Summary
The Sub Distributor Captain acts as our primary strategic ambassador embedded directly within partner Sub-Distributor facilities. In this vital territory-management role, you will oversee all company commercial ventures executed by the distributor, manage secondary sales growth, streamline payment collection frameworks, and lead a mobilized team of Distributor Sales Representatives (DSRs).
Key Responsibilities
- Distributor Governance: Oversee sub-distributor infrastructure, verify that partners maintain the required number of DSRs, and ensure stock parameters align perfectly with Agreed Stock Holding levels.
- Commercial Strategy: Conduct regular business, target, and monthly promotion reviews by the 1st and 2nd of every month, and communicate closing stock details to Channel Supervisors on time.
- Target Maximization: Drive the consistent achievement of secondary sales metrics and collections, track brand-wise goals systematically, and acquire new retail outlets to expand market reach.
- DSR Leadership: Supervise, train, and motivate the DSR team, manage route/beat productivity, run sharp morning alignment meetings, and offer on-the-spot market advice to optimize field operations.
- Market Visibility & Merchandising: Ensure all field teams deploy Point-of-Sale (POS) and merchandising materials to maximum visibility standards across all retail outlets with 100% route coverage.
- Reporting & Compliance: Draft and submit weekly Distributor Stock sales summaries, daily sales reports, and monthly initiative reviews while maintaining high process compliance.
Key Working Relationships
- Internal Dynamics: Collaborate closely with Sales Supervisors, Channel Supervisors, Channel Managers, and lead assigned Sub-D Sales Representatives.
- External Dynamics: Act as the central contact for Sub-Distributors and retail customers.
- Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Possession of a Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing or a closely related business discipline.
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience handling sub-distributor sales architectures, exclusively focusing on FMCG products.
- Attributes: High mobility level and flexibility to handle routine transfers across different territories. Ability to work long hours under minimal supervision.
- Technical Competencies: Exceptional interpersonal communication, strong presentation skills, robust arithmetic capabilities, and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Behavioral Traits: Decisive, approachable, highly self-confident, and structurally organized.
