JOB DETAILS:

This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level designer to gain hands-on experience and contribute to innovative projects in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. However, we don’t want you to join if you expect soft life and babysitting – we believe in your quick growth and getting your hands dirty. You will work closely with designers, engineers and cross-functional teams. You will create compelling user experiences and visually appealing interfaces for our digital products. You will be assisting in the design and development of user interfaces for web and mobile applications. 

Responsibilities and skills    

As a Junior UI/UX Designer at Reveloop Tech Systems, your responsibilities will include: 

• Assisting in the design and development of user interfaces for web and mobile applications. 

• Collaborating with other designers to create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate design ideas and user flows – we work with Figma primarily. 

• Collaborating with engineers and other stakeholders to review product requirements and ensure designs align with expectations. 

• Conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering feedback to inform design decisions and develop a thorough understanding of our audience. 

• Supporting the design team in creating engaging visual content that aligns with brand guidelines. 

• Staying current with industry trends and best practices in UI/UX design. 

• Working alongside developers to ensure designs are implemented accurately and effectively. 

• Participating in design reviews and providing constructive feedback to peers. 

• Contributing to maintaining design documentation and style guides. 

• Evaluating areas for improvement and revising designs based on feedback from our product teams. 

Requirements 

Our ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications: 

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree or certification in Product Design, IT, Graphic Design, Web Design, UI/UX Design, Product Design or a related field will give you a good edge. 

• Relevant work experience: This is an entry-level designer position so anywhere from 6 months to 2 years is good. 

• Portfolio: Don’t be afraid to share some of your work, be it fictitious projects, internship projects or anything that can give us a sense of what you can do. 

• Languages: Good verbal and written communication and the ability to work as a member of a team. 

• Location: Ability to physically come to an office in Kampala. 

Skills 

• Experience with design tools such as Sketch, Figma, Framer, or similar design tools. 

• Understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices in UI/UX. 

• A basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles is a plus. 

• A strong eye for visual design and attention to details. 

• Creative problem-solving and brainstorming as a member of a team. 

• An eagerness to learn and a passion for design.
