Our client - a leading retailer providing a wide range of power tools, hand tools, and related hardware products to customers across Uganda, with reliable delivery and dedicated customer support, is hiring! The Warehouse Management Officer will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of warehouse operations at the organisation, from inventory receipt and storage to order fulfillment and dispatch. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and safe handling of the organisation products, maintains optimal stock levels, and contributes to the seamless flow of goods within the supply chain.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Manage and supervise all warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of the organisation tools and related products.
● Implement and maintain efficient inventory control systems, conducting regular stock counts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and minimize discrepancies.
● Optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to maximize efficiency and storage capacity.
● Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment, promoting a culture of safety.
● Coordinate with procurement, sales, and transport teams to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.
● Oversee the loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper documentation and handling procedures are followed.
● Manage and motivate warehouse staff, including training, performance management, and scheduling.
● Implement quality control measures for incoming and outgoing goods, identifying and reporting any damages or discrepancies.
● Generate regular reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and operational efficiency.
● Manage warehouse equipment maintenance and ensure all machinery is in good working order.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
● Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
● 3+ years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, or logistics, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), retail, or hardware distribution environment.
● Proven knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control software.
● Strong understanding of warehousing best practices, health and safety regulations.
● Excellent organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPIs)
● Inventory Accuracy Rate (e.g., 99% accuracy).
● Order Fulfillment Rate (percentage of orders filled correctly and on time).
● Warehouse Space Utilization Rate.
● Receiving and Dispatching Efficiency (e.g., time taken per process).
● Inventory Shrinkage/Loss Rate.
● Safety Incidents (reduction in incidents).
● Order Picking Accuracy.
● Warehouse Operating Costs (e.g., per unit)
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
● Strong communication and interpersonal skills
