Job Overview:

The Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. This includes maintaining financial records, preparing reports, managing accounts payable/receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
  • Perform account reconciliations (bank, supplier, and inter-company).
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts.

Accounts Management:

  • Manage accounts payable (process invoices, payments, and expense reports).
  • Manage accounts receivable (issue invoices, track collections, and follow up on overdue accounts).
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate coding of transactions.

Compliance & Audit:

  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations (VAT, Withholding Tax, Corporate Tax).
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Payroll:

  • Process monthly payroll, ensuring accurate deductions and remittances (statutory contributions).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP/IFRS and local tax laws.
  • High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
