Background

Makerere University School of Public Health invites applications for a Data Manager under the CONNECT4HEALTH Project. The project seeks to strengthen integrated non-communicable disease and mental health care by connecting community, health-facility and follow-up care pathways in Buikwe and Mayuge districts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electronic project databases using REDCap, including data-quality checks and automated cleaning queries.
  • Develop data-management, quality-assurance and quality-control procedures and conduct routine database reviews.
  • Coordinate and supervise data entry across participating districts and health facilities.
  • Support project teams in using data systems and complying with technical, legal and ethical requirements.
  • Produce performance reports and visualisations and provide data for quarterly project reports.
  • Train project staff in data management and basic statistical analysis.
  • Protect project databases and archives against security breaches and data loss.

Qualifications and Desirable Qualities

  • Master’s degree in Biostatistics or an equivalent qualification.
  • Academic background in Statistics or Medical Statistics.
  • At least five years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Experience in database development, longitudinal data and interoperable data systems.
