Role Overview:

The Dentist will provide comprehensive dental examinations, diagnoses, and treatments, utilizing the center's imaging capabilities (such as OPG and CBCT) to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning. The role focuses on delivering high-quality dental care in a patient-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Services:

  • Conduct thorough oral examinations, including review of dental imaging (OPG, CBCT, intraoral X-rays).
  • Diagnose and treat dental conditions including caries, periodontal disease, and oral infections.
  • Perform restorative procedures (fillings, crowns, bridges), extractions, and root canal treatments.
  • Interpret dental imaging studies in collaboration with radiologists to support complex cases.
  • Provide preventive dental care and oral health education to patients.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with imaging technologists to ensure high-quality dental imaging.
  • Refer complex cases to specialists (orthodontists, oral surgeons) as appropriate.
  • Coordinate with other clinical staff to manage patients with systemic conditions affecting oral health.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment plans and imaging findings.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and sterilization standards.
  • Ensure compliance with Uganda Dental Association and regulatory body requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from a recognized university.
  • Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council with a valid practicing license.
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in general dentistry.
  • Experience with dental imaging interpretation is an advantage.

Competencies:

  • Strong clinical and diagnostic skills in dentistry.
  • Manual dexterity and precision.
  • Excellent patient communication and rapport-building.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development.
