About Twogere

Twogere is a Ugandan organisation working to close the youth mental health support gap by strengthening school-based mental health systems.

Through our Schools That Care programme, we work with schools over 24 months to establish and sustain practical systems for supporting students’ mental health.

About the Role

Twogere is seeking 10 District Resource Persons (DRPs) to support implementation of the Schools That Care programme in assigned schools across the districts listed above.

The DRP will work closely with Twogere and schools to provide implementation support, coaching and technical assistance. This is a part-time role and may be combined with other professional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Support implementation of the Schools That Care programme in assigned schools;
• Work with school leadership and designated teachers to strengthen school-based mental health systems;
• Facilitate or support training, coaching and other programme activities;
• Conduct regular school visits and provide ongoing technical support;
• Support safeguarding, confidentiality, escalation and referral processes;
• Strengthen linkages between schools and relevant support services;
• Support monitoring, data collection and documentation;
• Submit regular activity updates and reports; and
• Participate in Twogere’s programme learning and review activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

• A bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, public health, counselling, community development or a related field;
• Experience working with schools, young people, communities or district stakeholders;
• Experience in mental health, psychosocial support, safeguarding, child protection, education or a related area;
• Good communication, facilitation and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines;
• Be based in the district for which they are applying and be able to travel regularly to assigned schools within the district.

Experience in training, coaching, monitoring or community-based programmes is an advantage.

The engagement is subject to availability of programme funding.
