The EV Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing GOGO Electric’s fleet of electric motorcycles (e-bikes) to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing routine and emergency repairs, and providing field rescue services to stranded
riders.

Key Responsibilities for the EV Maintenance Technician role:

  • Maintenance and Repairs:
    • Conduct preventive and routine maintenance on electric motorcycles, including inspections of wheels, tires, braking systems, suspension, motors, and electrical assemblies.
    • Perform diagnostic assessments of mechanical and electrical systems using specialized tools, testing equipment, and fault-finding procedures.
    • Carry out repairs and replacements of defective powertrain and electrical components such as motors, motor controllers, wiring harnesses,voltage meters, throttle potentiometers, and DC–DC converters, as well as mechanical subsystems including brakes, suspension, and wheel assemblies.
    • Verify that all motorcycles comply with safety, reliability, and operational efficiency standards before release to riders.
    • Provide technical rider training on fundamental maintenance and operational practices, including energy-efficient riding techniques, safe vehicle handling, range optimization, routine inspection procedures, and early identification of electrical or mechanical faults.
  • Field Bike Rescue:
    • Respond promptly to emergency incidents involving stranded riders, delivering on-site technical support and bike recovery services.
    • Conduct field-level diagnostics and repairs at the breakdown location, including temporary fixes such as battery swaps, traction motor interventions, wiring checks, and electrical system resets to restore mobility.
    • Coordinate safe transport of motorcycles to the service facility when immediate roadside repair is not feasible, ensuring minimal downtime for riders.
    • Maintain detailed records of field interventions, common failure modes, and recurring breakdown patterns to support data-driven improvements in fleet reliability and preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used for each bike.
    • Report recurring issues to the Head of Operations for further investigation and
      long-term solutions.
    • Assist in the development of repair and maintenance protocols to improve
      efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Customer Interaction and Support:
    • Interact with riders in a professional and supportive manner, explaining repairs andproviding tips for bike maintenance.
    • Educate riders on safe handling of electric motorcycles and how to avoid common issues.
    • Provide customer support by answering basic technical questions from riders and addressing their concerns about bike performance.

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
  • MUST have 2 years of experience of repairs and maintenance for automobiles.
  • MUST have a valid riding permit.
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to breakdowns in the field.
  • Knowledge of electric motor systems and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong technical aptitude.
  • Skilled in using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
