Outbox in collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation is implementing the "10X: Enabling the Growth of MSMEs through Digital Economy" program in Uganda. This transformative initiative aims to enhance the wellbeing and resilience of young people in an inclusive digital economy by providing training in digital skills, increasing access to affordable finance for businesses, and supporting youth led MSMEs in adopting digital practices. The program targets 250,000 young people, with a special focus on women, refugees, and individuals with disabilities.
Job Overview
The Finance Business Partner Associate for the 10X program will play a vital role in managing project funds dedicated to fostering the growth of MSMEs through the Digital Economy over the course of the 3 - year project. You will collaborate with the consortium and the Mastercard Foundation to oversee the disbursement and accountability functions of the funds. Your responsibilities will extend to coordinating with the consortium, ESOs and SMEs/startups participating in the 10X initiative, ensuring efficient disbursements, financial planning, reporting, and other accounting activities.
Desired qualifications and selection criteria
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 4 years' experience in project finance, fund management, or a related role.
- Level 2 of CPA/ACCA
- Good knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles.
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and reporting.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, in-depth understanding of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel

- Coordinate the financial process
- Capacity Building and Support
- Monthly Tax Filing and Tax Return Preparation
- Prepare tax returns for the project
- Good knowledge of IFRS and GAAP accounting principles

- Proficiency in financial software and tools
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, in-depth understanding of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
