Job Description

The Uganda Energy Credit and Capitalisation Company (UECCC) is conducting research and monitoring of the energy financing market in Uganda. The research will provide stakeholders with an authoritative, insightful, and up to date overview of the available financing in the energy space, and key trends in the market and industry. The Finance Expert will work as part of a team to support the development of a financing market landscape study which will assess the current energy finance market, identify gaps in existing financing, and develop recommendations for closing those gaps.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Development Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years experience in development finance, particularly in energy sector financing, in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
• Experience working with Financial Institutions (FI), Development FIs, and microfinance institutions in the energy sector.
• Understanding and experience conducting risk assessments and using risk mitigation strategies for RE projects.
• Knowledge of the financial products for off-grid energy.
• Experience with guarantees, results-based financing, or blended financing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in digital finance.
• Experience working in Uganda.
• Experience working with WB or MDB financing
