Description
Peponi International Nursery and Daycare is hiring a Head Teacher to provide strategic and day-to-day leadership for the school, oversee curriculum delivery, supervise staff, promote high teaching standards, maintain parent relationships, and support school growth and enrollment.
School Scope:
Nursery, daycare and lower primary (P1–P5) | Montessori, Cambridge and national curriculum
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and management of academic, administrative and operational functions
- Supervise teachers, caregivers and support staff
- Coordinate implementation of Montessori, Cambridge and Uganda national curriculum
- Develop and review lesson plans, schemes of work and timetables
- Monitor classroom standards, learner progress and staff performance
- Serve as link between school and parents
- Promote and market the school
- Ensure a safe, clean and child-friendly environment
- Maintain school and administrative records
- Work with management on school growth and quality
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Formal teacher training
- Registered teacher in Uganda (or eligible)
- 3–5 years’ relevant teaching experience (with leadership responsibility)
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
- Ability to manage blended curriculum (Montessori, Cambridge, national)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
Added Advantage
- Postgraduate qualification in Educational Leadership/Management
- Montessori training or experience
- Cambridge/international school experience
- Experience with lower primary (P1–P5)
- School systems development experience
- Marketing and admissions experience
- Staff mentorship experience
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child welfare
- Basic ICT skills
