JOB DETAILS:

HOUSEKEEPER

Job Purpose

To maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, orderliness and presentation throughout guest rooms and assigned areas of the motel, ensuring guests enjoy a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Housekeeper will:

• Clean and prepare guest rooms, bathrooms and other assigned areas.
• Change bed linen, towels and other room supplies as required.
• Dust, sweep, mop and vacuum floors and surfaces.
• Clean windows, mirrors, furniture and other room fixtures.
• Replenish toiletries and other guest amenities.
• Inspect rooms to ensure they meet the motel's cleanliness standards.
• Report damaged furniture, fittings, electrical items or other maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Collect and properly dispose of waste.
• Maintain cleanliness of corridors, stairways and other designated areas.
• Handle cleaning equipment and chemicals safely.
• Respond courteously to reasonable guest requests relating to housekeeping.
• Safeguard guest property and immediately report lost-and-found items according to motel procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guests and their activities.
• Follow health, safety and hygiene procedures.
• Assist with laundry-related duties where required.
• Work collaboratively with reception and other departments to ensure rooms are ready for guests.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or motel management.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a secondary school education is preferred.
• Previous experience in housekeeping, hotel or motel operations is an advantage.
• Basic training in hospitality or housekeeping is an added advantage.
