Job Purpose
The Information Technology Officer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, security, and continuous improvement of the company's information technology infrastructure, systems, networks, hardware, and software. The role supports mining, production, administrative, and business operations by providing timely technical support, managing IT resources, safeguarding company data, and ensuring the reliability of communication and information systems across the clinker factory.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
IT Infrastructure Management
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware, software, servers, and peripheral devices.
- Manage and maintain the factory's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, internet connectivity, Wi-Fi, and communication systems.
- Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime of IT equipment and services.
- Maintain and support CCTV, access control systems, biometric attendance systems, and other technology platforms.
Technical Support
- Provide first-line and second-line technical support to employees.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
- Install and upgrade operating systems, applications, and security updates.
- Provide user training and technical guidance on IT systems and applications.
Cybersecurity and Data Protection
- Implement and monitor IT security measures to protect company systems and data.
- Manage antivirus, firewall, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
- Monitor network security and investigate potential cyber threats and security incidents.
- Ensure compliance with company IT policies and data protection requirements.
Systems Administration
- Administer user accounts, email systems, file-sharing platforms, and business applications.
- Support ERP, OA systems, attendance management systems, and other business software.
- Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity and recovery capabilities.
- Maintain IT asset inventories and software licensing records.
Project and Vendor Management
- Assist in implementing new IT projects, systems upgrades, and technology initiatives.
- Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for maintenance and technical support.
- Evaluate IT equipment and software requirements and provide recommendations to management.
Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, maintenance activities, incidents, and support requests.
- Prepare periodic reports on system performance, IT risks, and improvement initiatives.
- Develop and update IT procedures, user guides, and technical documentation.
Compliance, Safety, and Continuous Improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, cybersecurity standards, and industry best practices.
- Support digital transformation initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Promote safe handling and use of IT equipment and systems.
- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in IT support, systems administration, network administration, or IT infrastructure management.
- Experience working in manufacturing, mining, cement, industrial, or large-scale operational environments will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, networking, and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience with CCTV systems, biometric systems, ERP systems, and industrial communication networks is desirable.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, MCSA, CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
