We are looking for competent, skilled, and experienced talent to work with Simbaland Industries Uganda. Suitable candidates are encouraged to apply for the position of Inventory Officer.
Role Description
The Inventory Officer is responsible for planning, controlling, and monitoring all inventory activities across the manufacturing plant, warehouses, and trading units. This includes raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, imported merchandise, and consumables. The role ensures stock accuracy, proper documentation in Odoo ERP, inventory integrity, compliance with internal controls, and optimal stock levels to support uninterrupted production and sales operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management and Control: Maintain accurate inventory records for all stock items, Track stock movements including transfers and returns.
- Receiving and Inspection of goods: Report discrepancies, damages and ensure all received goods are properly documented and recorded.
- Distribution of stock: Ensure proper documentation of stock transfers and issue stock based on company procedures.
- Stock reconciliation and stock counts: Participate in periodic physical counts and prepare inventory reconciliation reports.
- Warehouse and Store Management: Ensure proper storage and organisation of stock and implement stock rotation methods such as First in First out.
- Reporting: Prepare daily inventory reports to management.
- Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with company inventory policies and procedures, safe guard inventory against theft, loss damage and unauthorized access.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Inventory Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Inventory Management and Stock Control
- Stock reconciliation
- Report preparation and analysis
