Background
Machapala Group is recruiting for its subsidiary, Machame Refineries, a fast-growing energy company commissioning a state-of-the-art pyrolysis plant in Nyenga, Jinja. The plant will convert waste tyres and plastics into pyrolysis oil and other sustainable fuels, contributing to industrial energy solutions and circular economy development. We invite applications from highly competent, disciplined, and results-oriented individuals to fill the following positions:
Job Summary
The Lab / Quality Technician is responsible for conducting product testing, ensuring quality compliance, and supporting process optimization through accurate laboratory analysis and reporting.
Key Result Areas
- Product testing (including viscosity, density, moisture content, and other parameters) is conducted accurately and within required timelines.
- Certificates of Analysis (COAs) are prepared, verified, and issued for all products.
- Laboratory equipment is properly calibrated, maintained, and operated in accordance with standards.
- Quality deviations are identified, documented, and escalated for corrective action.
- Records of test results, samples, and quality data are properly maintained and controlled.
- Environmental and emissions monitoring activities are supported in compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
Applicants must possess a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in an industrial or quality control laboratory is required. Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills are essential.
