Job Purpose:
To operate medical imaging equipment (X-ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, etc.) to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring patient safety and comfort while adhering to strict radiation protection and hospital protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures as prescribed by physicians.
- Prepare patients for examinations, explaining procedures and ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Accurately position patients and adjust imaging equipment to capture the correct area and optimal image quality.
- Operate and perform basic quality control checks on imaging equipment, reporting any faults.
- Process digital images and ensure they are correctly uploaded to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines for patients, staff, and self.
- Assist Radiologists with specialized procedures when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Medical Radiography / Medical Imaging Technology from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in a hospital setting.
- Experience with multiple imaging modalities (Ultrasound, CT) is a strong advantage.
