Academic Qualifications:
Diploma in Diagnostic Ultrasound, Medical Imaging, or a related field from a recognized institution.
Professional Qualifications:
Valid registration and licensure with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council
Continuous Professional Development (CPD) credits in diagnostic sonography.
Experience:
At least 2 years of proven experience in a clinical setting performing various ultrasound procedures.
Experience in obstetric, abdominal, vascular, and musculoskeletal imaging is preferred.
Special Skills Needed:
- Proficiency in using ultrasound equipment and other diagnostic imaging tools.
- Strong understanding of anatomy, pathology, and imaging techniques.
- Excellent communication and patient care skills.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle multiple cases.
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
- Ensure quality control and maintenance of ultrasound equipment.
- Accurately document and interpret sonographic findings.
- Communicate results clearly to physicians and relevant healthcare staff.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to safety protocols.
- Keep accurate records of all procedures performed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development activities.
Reporting To:
Medical Officer in Charge
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures as ordered by physicians.
- Prepare and position patients appropriately for imaging procedures.
