Brookside Limited, is the manufacturer of Fresh Dairy milk and milk products, a heritage brand in Uganda. Our operations are focused in the processing of safe quality milk and milk products that meets the customer requirements. As we continue to grow and uphold our commitment to excellence, we are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our Milk procurement and Extension team in the following role:

Position: MPE FIELD OFFICER.

Department: Milk Procurement & Extension.

Reports To: Regional Head Milk Procurement.

Role Purpose

Responsible for assisting the Head of Milk Procurement in planning, organizing and coordinating field operations involving milk collections, chilling and transportation to the main milk plant in Kampala and related tasks as per agreed Brookside Limited guidelines/provisions reception and storage of acceptable raw milk with required standards according to Brookside Ltd policy.

Duties and Responsibilities.

• You will be responsible in assisting the Head of Milk Procurement in planning, organizing and controlling field operations involving Milk collection, chilling and transportation to the main Milk plant in Kampala.
• You will be ensuring that the testing of raw milk, grading, chilling, transportation and maintaining hygienic conditions at the Centre(s) is catered for with required ISO Standards.
• Ensuring that only raw milk of acceptable ISO quality standards is ferried to the main processing plant & received by the Centre Assistant.
• Monitoring of prices of raw fresh milk offered to farmers by the competitors.
• Liaising with the General Manager/MP&ES on the sensitization of farmers on clean milk production and any technical problems that you may encounter.
• Being responsible for the safe custody of the company property and reporting any breakdowns that may occur.
• Controlling and monitoring wastages/losses of milk solids and reconciling on day to day basis the milk purchased and dispatched to the Kampala plant.
• Preparing weekly and monthly reports of your findings and action taken and submitting the same to your immediate supervisor.
• Coordinating with the General Manager/MP&ES and making sure that milk is lifted from the Centre(s) on day to day basis.
• As a representative of Brookside Limited, ensuring harmonious relationship between Brookside Limited, farmers and the general public within your area.
• Scout and recommend to the General Manager/MP&ES areas with milk potential for the establishment of new MCCs or pick-up points in your area.
• Carrying out any other duties as may be assigned to you from time to time by your immediate Mentor.
• You will be reporting to the General Manager – Milk Procurement, Kampala.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• A Job holder must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture with emphasis Animal Husbandry or its equivalent or a degree in veterinary science or a degree in Dairy husbandry and Milk Processing from a reputable University.
• Experience: A minimum of (03) years’ experience in the field of extension activities while Organizing farmer’s group or societies, training the farmers and supervision of primary societies and related tasks.
