Position: Pharmacy Assistant

Mondays Hope Medical Centre – Senene, Mpigi

Academic Qualifications:

Certificate in Pharmacy

Professional Qualifications:

Valid registration/ and practicing license with the Uganda Allied Health Professionals Council

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred

Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic prescription systems is an advantage.

Special Skills Needed:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Excellent knowledge of pharmaceuticals, dosages, and prescription procedures.

Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing medications

Dedication and ability to work efficiently under pressure

Good organizational and record-keeping skills

Basic computer proficiency (inventory management systems, MS Office)

Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently

Maintain proper storage and security of pharmaceuticals

Manage stock levels and place orders for supplies as needed

Update patient records and pharmacy databases

Provide information and guidance to customers regarding over-the-counter medications

Ensure compliance with pharmacy laws and safety standards

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area

Reporting To:

Pharmacy Supervisor/Clinic Manager

  • Assist in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
