We are looking for a highly responsible, safety-conscious, and customer-focused Professional Safari Driver. The ideal candidate will be more than just a driver; they will be an ambassador for our company and for Uganda. You will be responsible for transporting our clients safely and comfortably in our custom-built 4x4 safari vehicles, ensuring their journey is not only secure but also informative and enjoyable.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Safe Transportation: Safely drive clients to and from various destinations, including airports, national parks, hotels, and activity sites, adhering to all Ugandan traffic laws and company safety protocols.
Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the safari vehicle is always clean, well-maintained, mechanically sound, and fully stocked (e.g., water, first-aid kit).
Client Service: Provide a warm, welcoming, and professional atmosphere for all guests. Assist with luggage, answer questions, and ensure client comfort throughout the journey.
Guiding & Interpretation: Possess excellent knowledge of Uganda's tourism offerings, including wildlife, bird species, geography, and culture. Provide basic interpretation and interesting commentary during game drives and transit.
Trip Support: Work closely with the guide (if applicable) and the operations team to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated safari experience for clients.
Problem-Solving: Demonstrate the ability to handle minor mechanical issues on the road and proactively manage any trip disruptions or client concerns.
Reporting: Accurately complete logbooks, fuel records, and incident reports as required by company policy.

Essential Requirements:
A valid Ugandan Driving Permit (Class D is mandatory for heavy vehicles.
A Minimum of a Diploma. A Higher Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Wildlife Management, or a related field is a distinct advantage.
A minimum of 3-5 years of professional driving experience, with a proven track record in the tourism industry** (safari driving experience is highly preferred).
An excellent, verifiable driving record with no major offenses.
Proficiency in English (both spoken and written). Knowledge of other languages (e.g., Chinese ) is a strong plus.
Extensive knowledge of Ugandan roads, national parks, and major tourist routes.
Strong customer service skills, with a polite, patient, and friendly demeanor.
Basic mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills for vehicle troubleshooting.
Personal Attributes:
Impeccable personal presentation and professionalism.
Honesty, integrity, and reliability.
A passion for tourism and showcasing Uganda.
Safety-conscious and punctual.
Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, with possible extended trips away from home.
