We're now seeking to recruit suitably qualified, self-driven, result oriented, dynamic and competent persons willing to share with our Vision and the aspirations of our 5th Strategy to join the team in the following role
POSITION: Project Legal Officer - Women Protection Shelter (WPC).
Reports to: Cluster Co-ordinator & Project Coordinator WPCs
Responsible for: Pyschosocial Support Officers
Location: Katakwi Cluster (must be willing to work in other upcountry locations). .

Job Role:
To plan, manage, monitor and supervise the implementation of the DFID Programme on Gender Based Violence project objectives in line with donor guidelines and organization's strategic plan.


Skills and Abilities:
• Practical knowledge of Court processes/ procedures and possession of a valid practicing certificate is a must
• Practical experience in providing probono services to victims of GBV including legal advice, representation in Court, rehabilitation and resettlement
• Knowledge of Gender, Human rights and gender based violence issues is a must and as well MUST possess riding skills.


Qualification
• A minimum of an Honours Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognised University
• Diploma in Legal practice from Law Development Centre or any recognised institution
• Postgraduate qualification in project planning and management or any related field is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience preferably in an INGO or NGO.
