Background

The Stores Manager oversees the efficient management of inventory and supplies within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of all supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Stock Control: Monitor stock levels, maintain accurate inventory records, and ensure timely reordering to prevent shortages.
  • Receiving and Inspection: Receive and inspect incoming goods to verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of receipts, issues, and stock movements.
  • Storage and Organization: Ensure proper storage conditions, labeling, and organization of all stores items.
  • Stock Rotation: Implement FIFO (First-In-First-Out) principles to minimize wastage and spoilage.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular inventory reports and updates for management.
  • Supplier Coordination: Liaise with procurement and suppliers on deliveries, shortages, and quality issues.
  • Security: Ensure the security of stores and control access to inventory.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise stores attendants and support staff.
