Job description
- Provide technical support to field operations through remote guidance and field visits, ensuring effective decision-making and context-adapted solutions.
- Advise programs on technical strategy, planning, and resource setup, including validation of suppliers, equipment, and processes.
- Lead SUKA workshop strategy and operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and timely maintenance of vehicles and motorized equipment.
- Supervise workshop performance, staff, and spare parts management to ensure service continuity and cost-effective operations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (logistics, supply, medical) to ensure integrated and efficient operational support.
- Contribute to technical standards, innovation, and sustainable practices within the domain.
- Strengthen staff capacity through training, recruitment support, and development of technical competencies.
Responsibilities
This position provides technical expertise to support operational decision-making across field missions, through risk analysis and the development of context-adapted solutions. It contributes to the strengthening of technical standards, best practices, and innovation within the domain, in line with organizational and environmental objectives. The role also ensures the effective management of SUKA’s intersectional workshop, including resources, workflows, and service delivery, while supporting the development of technical capacities and specialist networks. Overall, it reinforces SUKA’s role as a key provider of expertise and a driver of operational support, learning, and innovation.
Your profile
Essential
- Fluent in French & English
- Master or Bachelor degree and Specialization on area of in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or related technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in workshop management, preferably in humanitarian or international fleet management settings
- Dynamic, organized, rigorous, with strong analytical and synthesis skills while respecting existing structures and their evolution.
- Spare parts management, budgeting, and workshop planning
- Leading multicultural teams, training programs, and technical capacity building.
- Expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining 4x4 vehicles (notably Toyota Land Cruiser), generators, and mechanical equipment.
- Ability to collaborate, strong interpersonal skills, sense of dialogue, and good listening skills.
- Ability to communicate at different levels and maintain a global vision of the project.
