Background
Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:
Job Summary
Responsible for operating survey UAVs and geophysical instruments, and completing aerial survey, geophysical exploration and 3D modelling of the mining area.
Key Duties
- Plan and execute UAV aerial survey missions; capture aerial imagery and produce orthophoto maps (DOM) and digital elevation models (DEM); operate IP instruments, magnetometers and other geophysical equipment; process data using Pix4D and geophysical software; assist in geological mapping and structural interpretation; maintain UAVs and geophysical equipment.
Requirements
- Technical secondary school or above in geology/geophysics/surveying; hold a CAAC UAV pilot licence; 1+ year of aerial survey and geophysical experience; proficient in Pix4D photogrammetry software; able to work in arduous field conditions.
