Background
Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:
Job Summary
Responsible for the design, implementation and interpretation of geophysical surveys to provide a geophysical basis for mineral exploration and mine development.
Key Duties
- Design and conduct induced polarisation (IP), magnetic and other geophysical surveys; operate DD-1000 IP instruments, GSM-19T proton precession magnetometers and other equipment; process, invert and interpret geophysical data; prepare geophysical reports and maps; integrate geophysical results with geological mapping and drilling.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in geophysics/geological exploration; 3+ years of geophysical experience in solid mineral exploration; familiar with IP, magnetic methods and instruments; knowledge of Pix4D, MapGIS and similar software; able to work in the field.
