Job Advert: Quality Assurance Manager- for Cocoa producing company
Employment Type: Full-time
On behalf of our client, a Cocoa Producing Company, we seek to recruit and interview for a Quality Assurance Manager to lead our quality management systems and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Assurance:
Lead QA across all operations and responsibilities include
- Maintain QMS, standards and specifications.
- Supervise Quality Assurance team.
- Conduct regular branch audits.
- Ensure equipment calibration and testing
- Liaise with production, purchasing, logistics and customers.
2. Complaints & Continuous Improvement
Operate company-wide quality issue system and responsibilities include
- Receive, investigate and resolve all quality complaints.
- Maintain a central register of complaints/non-conformances.
- Assign owners and track every issue until closed.
- Complete root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions.
- Update SOPs, work instructions and training following lessons learned.
- Report trends and KPIs to management.
3. Monitoring & Compliance
Verify standards and responsbilities include
- Perform scheduled and surprise inspections
- Monitor supplier, branch and warehouse compliance
- Recommend improvements and deliver training.
- Ensure export/customer specifications are achieved.
4. Leadership
Develop people and responsbilities include
- Manage QA staff.
- Communicate effectively with branches and customers.
- Build accountability and continuous improvement culture.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Food Science, Quality Management or related field.
- 5+ years' quality assurance experience in agriculture, food processing or exports.
- Strong root cause analysis and CAPA experience.
- Experience managing SOPs, audits and quality systems.
- Excellent communication and people management skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within Uganda
