JOB DETAILS:

Background

Wagagai Mining (U) Ltd ("WGG") is Uganda's first fully automated large-scale gold mining enterprise, located in Busia. The Company operates a 5,000-tonne-per-day concentrator, a 350-tonne-per-day cyanidation plant, a fully automated underground mine, and a gold smelting and refining workshop. To meet production development needs, WGG now invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following key technical positions:

Responsibilities

Responsible for technical management of geological exploration projects, resource estimation and mine geological modelling.

Key Duties:

• Lead geological mapping, drilling programs and core logging, build 3D geological models and resource estimates; prepare geological reports; guide the exploration team; provide geological input for mine design and production.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or above in mineral exploration with Senior Engineer title; 10+ years of solid mineral exploration experience; proficient in Micromine/SurpacoData mine and other 3D mine software; technical management and team leadership ability; overseas mine experience preferred.
