JOB DETAILS:
Job Description
Overall purpose of the job.
• To carry out fitting work on boiler structures and pans and handle the general maintenance and repair (in case of breakdown) of mechanical machines in the factory.

Key Responsibilities
1. Monitor equipment in the section for efficient operation.
2. Make spare parts for the machines in the workshop.
3. Handle the fitting and repairing of machines in case of emergencies.
4. Lubricate machines by oiling them.
5. Clean the machines that are going to be used.
6. Keep the workshop tools in safe custody after use.
7. Maintain a clean working environment within the workshop.
8. Adhere to the safety, health and environment policy of the company.
9. Perform any other related duties as maybe assigned by the Superintendent – Maintenance/Management from time to time.

Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
Education:
National or Craft certificate in Mechanical Engineering from recognized Institute.

Experience, Skills and Competences:
A minimum of at least two (2) years working experience as a fitter in a heavy industrial Environment. Knowledge in fitting, alignment of equipment, fabrication and welding, lathe machine operation skills, machinery installation principles, use of lubricants and machine servicing and good communication skills.

Communication Skills: The position demands constant interactions, and excellent communication skills in order to pass down instructions.

Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and PowerPoint,

Analytical Skills: A candidate for this position must be capable of gathering and interpreting raw information and data, documenting findings, and drawing appropriate recommendations.

Interpersonal Skills: The candidate must be a helpful, calm and professional individual, have strong time management skills.

People Skills: individual who is able to gunner the trust and respect of departmental heads and management?
