B1. Overall purpose of the job.
Key Responsibilities
Provision of quality education
- Teach pupils, prepare and store teaching aids (resources).
- Timely prepare schemes and lesson plans in the subjects that he or she teaches.
- Ensure that there is a variety of reference books in order to obtain an up-to date matter/content for pupils /learners and request for any relevant additional books.
- Set and mark exercises/tests and examination scripts and revise all work in this category.
- Monitor the class interest performance in the subjects being taught and provide counseling to students who lag behind.
- Organize internal seminars and guide group discussions for candidates (Primary seven).
- Teach effectively with proper time management.
- Ensure full syllabus coverage and revision of work in lower classes as similar topics arise.
- Be creative in the choice and use of local material for teaching aid.
Identification of learners’ problems and counseling.
- Identify slow learners and their problems and try to solve them.
- Use peer and group teachings to assist learners.
- Try to make learners love the subject and not to frighten them.
- Keep good discipline and set an example.
- Teach in any class and in all subjects.
Other duties.
- Carry out co-curricular activities in the school and follow the duty roster.
- Perform any other duties as maybe assigned by the Deputy Head Teacher/Management from time to time.
Complying with safety measures. Adhere to the company safety, health and environment procedures in place.
Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the Deputy Head teacher/ Management from time to time
C Knowledge, qualifications & Experience
C1.1 Education:
Education: A Diploma in Education, a Grade III teaching Certificate and a Certificate of Registration with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
C2.2: Experience, Skills and Competences:
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years teaching experience in a primary school for Grade V teachers. Knowledge of teaching thematic curriculum would be an added advantage.

guiding and counseling skills
Communication Skills: will need exceptional communication skills in order to effectively execute his duties. These skills will have to be exceptional both in written and verbal form.
Ms Office: A candidate for this position must be proficient in the use of Ms Word, Ms Excel, and Power Point.
Analytical and Interpersonal Skills: must also be self-motivated, be proactive going beyond the call of duty, have a keen eye for detail, be result-oriented, and have an ability to work stay calm under pressure and in uncertainty inspiring the same in his team.
People Skills: must also be likeable and relatable, having an ability to form strong connections with others, earning their trust, and hence being able to influence even management in the business.
