About MakSPH: The Makerere University School of Public Health is committed to improving the health and well-being of populations, especially in low and middle-income countries. The Gender and Diversity Initiative addresses stigma and discriminatory practices that hinder access to HIV prevention and treatment services.

Job Summary:
The Activity Coordinator will be responsible for spearheading the Gender Sensitivity and Diversity (GSD) training programs, ensuring that they are relevant, impactful, and aligned with the current sociopolitical context of Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
• Curriculum Assessment: Review and adapt the existing GSD training curriculum to ensure its applicability in the contemporary Ugandan context.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster partnerships with stakeholders, including the CDC, MoH, and key population community organizations, to ensure comprehensive GSD training.
• Training Implementation: Organize and facilitate GSD Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops and ensure the cascading of training to district levels.
• Mentorship: Provide continuous mentorship and support to trainers, ensuring effective training delivery at all levels.
• Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop metrics and continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the GSD training program, making necessary adjustments.
• Advocacy & Outreach: Promote the importance and relevance of GSD in the broader healthcare context of Uganda.

Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Public Health.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in gender-related projects or programs, with a focus on training and capacity building.
• Familiarity with the HIV/AIDS landscape in Uganda and the unique challenges faced by key populations.
• Strong understanding of the Ugandan legal and sociopolitical context, particularly in relation to gender and diversity issues.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team and engaging with high-level stakeholders.
• Previous exposure to projects focusing on the intersection of health, gender, and human rights.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
