The Admissions, Marketing and Communications Officer is responsible for driving student enrolment and strengthening the school’s public profile through effective admissions processes, strategic marketing, and clear communication.

The role combines operational responsibility for managing admissions with a proactive approach to marketing and community engagement. The postholder will act as a key ambassador for the School, ensuring a professional, responsive and welcoming experience for prospective and current families, while actively promoting the school’s identity, values and programmes.

Responsibilities or duties

Admissions

  • Manage the admissions process from first inquiry through enrolment, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for prospective families.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for admissions-related inquiries via phone, email and in person.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and provide accurate information on programmes, admissions requirements and school life.
  • Conduct engaging school tours and information sessions, both in-person and online.
  • Maintain and update the admissions database (Google Sheets), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Ensure applications are complete, liaising with families to obtain any missing information.
  • Coordinate student assessments, interviews and placements in consultation with the Head of School and Phase Leaders.
  • Prepare and send offers, tracking conversions from offer to acceptance.
  • Support families during transition into the school and liaise on withdrawals where necessary.
  • Prepare admissions reports, tracking inquiries, applications and enrolment metrics for the Head of School.
  • Coordinate student transfers and leavers, including confidential reports, transcripts, certificates, surveys and clearance of school property/fees.
  • Manage new student onboarding logistics (uniforms, resources, timetables, schedules, emails, Kindles, etc.) and ensure smooth induction.
  • Communicate with staff, parents and students to assign buddies, provide guidance and follow up after enrolment, including organising check-in meetings with new families after their first weeks to support transition and formulation of the Settling-In Report in week 4 after arrival.
  • Maintain and update induction materials in association with the Head of School and gather feedback from new families to improve admissions processes.
  • Provide reception support when required, following the agreed reporting structure.

Marketing

  • Develop and implement a school-wide marketing plan aligned with enrolment targets
  • Promote the school’s unique identity, including academic programmes, morning sports, and “Adventure in Learning” ethos
  • Manage and update the school website, ensuring content is current, accurate and engaging
  • Create and coordinate marketing materials including brochures, newsletters, social media content and promotional campaigns
  • Manage and grow the school’s social media presence, ensuring regular, high-quality and engaging content
  • Capture and promote key moments from school life (events, trips, achievements, student success)
  • Plan and deliver admissions and marketing events such as open days, information sessions and community outreach activities
  • Develop relationships with feeder schools, organisations and community groups to support recruitment
  • Monitor the effectiveness of marketing activities and adjust strategies based on data and feedback

School Communication

  • Develop and coordinate clear, consistent and professional communication across the school
  • Draft and distribute parent communications, announcements and newsletters in consultation with the Head of School
  • Ensure communication across all platforms (email, website, WhatsApp, social media) is aligned and up to date
  • Manage urgent and routine communications to ensure timely and accurate information sharing
  • Support communication for school events, trips and key initiatives
  • Maintain a consistent tone, style and branding across all communications

Community & Events

  • Actively contribute to the life of the school and build strong relationships with students, staff and families
  • Support and organise parent engagement events, including induction, information evenings and community activities
  • Represent the school professionally at events and within the wider community
  • Support whole-school events and ensure strong promotion and communication before, during and after events

General Administration & Reception Support

  • Provide front office cover when required (including but not limited to times of heavy traffic and when receptionist needs to step out) throughout the school day, including welcoming visitors, answering calls and handling routine enquiries.
  • Assist with administrative tasks to support school operations.
  • Manage bookings and scheduling for school tours, meetings and events.
  • Support logistics for school events, including set-up, hospitality and communication with vendors.
  • Always maintain a professional and welcoming persona, including professional attire and tone of voice.
  • Assist other administrative staff with projects and tasks as directed by the Head of School and senior leadership.

Other Duties

  • Support the Head of School and leadership team in strategic enrolment and communications planning.
  • Undertake additional tasks as reasonably requested to support the growth and reputation of the school.
  • Contribute to strategic planning related to admissions, marketing and communication.

Qualifications or requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. marketing, communications, business, education)
  • Experience in admissions, marketing or communications, preferably in an international school setting
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service, sales or relationship management
  • Experience managing digital platforms (website, social media, databases)

  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
