Role Summary:
Our client, a reputable educational institution with over 20 years of dedicated service, a workforce of 230 staff, and an enrolment of over 3,000 learners, seeks to recruit competent and experienced Assistant Bursars/Accountants. The Assistant Bursar/Accountant will manage financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, financial reporting, and compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, budgets, and management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Support audit preparations and respond to audit queries.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
- Assist in cash flow management and financial planning.
- Process payroll and statutory deductions.
- Monitor expenditure and ensure cost control.
- Prepare fee structures and manage school fee collections.
- Support the Bursar in financial decision-making and reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA) is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years' relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel (advanced level).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and tax regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and professional skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
