The opportunity

Kaboni Holding Group is seeking an exceptional Associate Chief of Staff & Executive Office Lead to work directly with its Founder and Group CEO. The role spans African mining and mineral processing, climate technology and biochar carbon removal, new business opportunities and private investments.

This is an execution-focused leadership role for someone who can bring structure to complexity, convert discussions into action and sustain accountability across the portfolio. The position includes selected executive-support responsibilities, but its primary focus is coordinating priorities, preparing decisions and driving critical workstreams to completion.

The mandate

Build and operate the CEO’s executive office by consolidating priorities, coordinating teams, preparing decisions and ensuring that agreed actions are completed and documented. Most workstreams will follow a consistent execution cycle:

CAPTURE → ORGANIZE → ASSIGN → FOLLOW UP → ESCALATE → CLOSE

The successful candidate will thrive on initiating, executing, documenting and closing priority workstreams across the Founder and Group CEO’s portfolio.

Success in the role will be demonstrated by clearer executive priorities, faster preparation and communication of decisions, stronger ownership of agreed actions, earlier escalation of risks and more reliable completion and documentation of critical workstreams.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain a clear view of the CEO’s priorities, decisions, deadlines and risks; prepare concise daily and weekly briefs and organize the calendar accordingly.
  • Turn meetings and strategic discussions into actions, owners and timelines; drive follow-through across teams, advisers and counterparties and escalate slippage early.
  • Prepare decision papers, presentations and meeting materials; review operating and financial information and identify the issues requiring executive attention.
  • Coordinate priority workstreams across operations, financing, transactions, governance and new ventures, including projects without a natural internal owner.
  • Coordinate executive logistics and limited personal administration directly connected to the CEO’s effectiveness, while strengthening the systems used to control tasks, documents, communications and management information.

Digital and analytical capability

The successful candidate must be highly capable with data and technology and able to improve how the executive office works. This includes:

  • Advanced Excel and strong financial literacy, with the ability to analyze data and build practical trackers, budgets, scenarios and dashboards.
  • Strong PowerPoint, Word and Outlook capability, producing executive-quality materials and disciplined email, calendar and follow-up systems.
  • Practical experience with Asana or comparable project-management platforms and SharePoint/OneDrive or comparable document-management environments.
  • Confidence learning bespoke systems and using Al tools, Microsoft Power Automate, templates and no-code platforms responsibly to improve productivity; experience with Claude Al is preferred.

Candidate profile

  • Typically 4-7 years of experience in management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, Big Four advisory, corporate law, private equity, a family office, a CEO office or another high-accountability environment involving complex analysis and senior stakeholders.
  • A relevant professional qualification or postgraduate degree, such as ACA, ACCA, CFA or MBA, is advantageous but not essential.
  • Evidence of managing several workstreams and senior stakeholders while personally driving ambiguous work through to completion.
  • Excellent English, commercial judgement, organization and discretion, with the confidence to follow up firmly, challenge constructively and communicate bad news early.
  • Willingness to live in Mbarara, travel regularly across western Uganda and work comfortably across offices, industrial facilities and project sites. Emerging-market or operating-business experience is advantageous.

Compensation and Career Development

  • A competitive base salary commensurate with the role’s seniority, responsibilities and required experience.
  • Performance-based bonuses will be awarded on a discretionary basis.
  • A living allowance and coverage of required communication hardware, software and related business
  • Significant career-development opportunities for strong performers, including progression into senior roles within the Group’s operating companies or into investment, strategy and special-project roles at holding-company level.

Working environment and application

The role is based in Mbarara, close to the Group’s principal activities in western Uganda, and requires regular travel to operating and project sites as well as periodic travel to Kampala and international locations, including the UAE. Candidates based elsewhere must be willing to relocate to Mbarara; relocation support may be available for the successful candidate.

The environment is entrepreneurial, ambitious and fast-moving. The successful candidate must be equally comfortable in executive meetings and at industrial or field locations, building effective relationships with senior professionals and ground-level operating teams.
