Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.

Job Description

Operate automated drop packers or pick and place machinery that packs filled bottles into cardboard cases.

Maintain end to end accountability for packing inputs, operational sequencing, safety, quality standards, and documentation.

Coordinate with upstream and downstream packaging teams to ensure continuous line flow without creating avoidable waste or delays.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate assigned automated drop packers or pick and place equipment following approved start up, running, changeover, shutdown, and cleaning procedures.
• Inspect the work area before start up to confirm that required materials, cases, and safety guards are correctly positioned.
• Perform routine visual, dimensional, weight, alignment, and count checks on packed cases and packaging materials.
• Identify common packaging defects promptly and segregate non conforming items to prevent downstream processing or dispatch.
• Perform minor machine adjustments strictly within authorized limits and escalate complex technical faults to maintenance specialists.
• Maintain complete, legible, and traceable shift logs, machine setting records, and quality check sheets.
• Conduct thorough line cleaning, sanitation, and changeover tasks, ensuring removal of all previous batch residues and packaging materials.
• Follow all occupational health, food safety, hygiene, personal protective equipment, and lockout or isolation protocols.

• Routine machine operation, changeover, and basic adjustment
• Basic digital documentation and PLC or HMI interface monitoring

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• Ordinary Diploma or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, Printing Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, Technical Trade Certificate, or relevant TVET award in a related engineering or technical field.
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) with demonstrated literacy, numeracy, and completion of company training.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 3 weeks machine operation training.
