Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Carry out quantity and cost estimates of labour, material and other costs involved in the tendering stage and in the execution of the electrical aspect of construction projects;
• Assist the Division Manager in the preparation of tendering activities, including budgets, procurement, plans, engineering plans and preparation of drawings and submittals;
• Conduct surveys on sites on which the Company may submit tenders;
• Carry out programming including software development of microprocessor-based controllers such as Building Management Systems and other extra low voltage systems;
• Engineer, prepare cost estimates, list and commission renewable energy systems including photovoltaic systems;
• Source both local and foreign suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective option for ordering material and equipment for Company projects;
• Advise on construction, installation, operation and maintenance of electrical extra low voltage systems and equipment;
• Submit purchase orders to superior for approval;
• Visit sites to assess work progress and estimate value of work completed; report on variances between specifications and actual usage of electrical material as directed by superior;
• Liaise with the Construction Office regarding any suggested amendments on approved electrical drawing specifications;
• Train and develop any draughtsman/technician that may be assigned from time to time;
• Provide technical assistance to construction crews in commissioning electrical systemsupon completion of installation; mobilise to site to carry out system integration related works, prepare for commissioning and carry out commissioning.
• Submit regular and ad hoc reports within job holder’s span of responsibilities;
• Assist superior in the recruitment of subordinates;
• Keep abreast of new suppliers, products and materials concerning electrical installation,and their prices and specifications;
• Keep up-to-date with the expertise required to carry out job holder’s duties most competently at all times;
Terms:
• Contract Duration - 2 years (renewable)
• Minimum work Hours - Per week 40 hours
• Overtime calculated on the basic pay rate as per Maltese law
• Food - By Employee
• Accommodation - By Employee
• Insurance - By Company
• Work permit / Visa - By Company
• Flight Ticket - Provided upon engagement only (one way from country of origin to Malta)
Gross salary range: UGX 7380493.46 – UGX 10611952.77 per month + OT
CFC = 3000 + visa cost extra
Payment Schedule:
• On signing of Agreement/ offer letter - 300
• At the stage of Work permit documentation - 1000
• On receipt of visa - 1700
