Dalilang Foods & Beverages is a Ugandan FMCG manufacturer producing packaged snacks, including potato crisps, gonja chips, coated peanuts and peanut butter, alongside spring water, fruit nectars and energy drinks.

Job Description

Operate blow molding machinery safely and efficiently within the packaging department to produce high quality plastic bottles. Monitor preform feeding and oven heating parameters to ensure continuous line output and minimal material wastage. Perform routine quality testing and station upkeep to support downstream packaging operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Operate blow molding machinery according to approved start up, operational, changeover, and shutdown procedures.
• Load preform hoppers consistently to maintain steady material feed and prevent line interruptions.
• Adjust preform oven heating zones strictly within authorized parameters, calling technical support when specialist intervention is needed.
• Perform visual, dimensional, weight, and bottle drop tests to verify bottle integrity against packaging specifications.
• Identify, separate, and record defective bottles promptly to prevent non compliant containers from advancing to the filling lines.
• Perform mold cleaning, line defect clearing, and routine sanitation during changeovers and at the end of production runs.
• Maintain legible, accurate, and timely records of machine settings, check results, output volumes, and defect tallies.
• Comply with occupational health, food safety, and environmental standards, including the use of designated personal protective equipment and machine guards.

Education Qualifications & Experience

Education Qualifications

• National Diploma or Ordinary Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Food Processing, Production Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, Applied Sciences, or related technical fields.
• National Certificate, Craft Certificate, or Technical Trade Certificate / TVET training in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related technical disciplines.
• Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) trainee route for applicants demonstrating foundational literacy, numeracy, safety awareness, and physical capability for packaging operations.

Experience

• No prior work experience required.
• Includes 3 weeks machine operation training.
