Background
CNOOC Uganda Limited, a leading oil and gas exploration company, is looking to fill multiple positions for its Oilfield Onsite Project Team and Production Department. This initiative aligns with the company's commitment to expanding its operations while growing the national content and bolstering its workforce to meet the growing demands of the energy sector. The recruitment drive aims to attract fresh graduates, skilled and qualified professionals who can contribute to the company's objectives of maintaining operational excellence and adhering to the highest industry standards.
Location
Kampala, Uganda. Mobilized to Albert Lake, construction sites or other cities if required.
Responsibilities
• Support the timely and efficient procurement of goods and services in accordance with established policies, procedures, and operational requirements.
• Support the Procurement Team in preparing procurement plans, correspondence, presentations, reports, and other procurement-related documentation.
• Provide planning, analytical, and administrative support to facilitate effective procurement operations.
• Coordinate and participate in bid evaluations and contract negotiations, and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports in accordance with established procedures.
• Review and analyze existing and prospective procurement contracts and provide recommendations to optimize commercial terms, value, and performance.
• Collaborate with user departments to identify and select suitable contractors and coordinate contractor qualification and prequalification processes in accordance with Company procurement procedures.
• Monitor and analyze supplier performance, procurement expenditure, and cost-saving opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
• Liaise with end-users and suppliers to coordinate and negotiate changes to specifications, contractual requirements, terms, and conditions.
• Coordinate internal supplier approval processes and ensure suppliers meet applicable business requirements, certifications, and compliance standards, with records maintained and kept up to date.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to support cost efficiency, service quality, and timely delivery of goods and services.
• Facilitate and coordinate meetings between the Procurement Team, user departments, and suppliers to address procurement requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain, organize, and archive procurement and contract records in accordance with Company policies and document management requirements.
• Conduct training and provide guidance to user departments on procurement processes, procedures, and compliance requirements.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisors.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in procurement and supply chain management, Business Administration, or any related field.
• At least 4 years of related work experience in procurement and contracts, preferably in similar projects.
Knowledge
• Extensive knowledge of the latest business purchasing management strategies, practices, philosophy, pricing strategies and cost analysis
• Excellent organizational, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Good command of both written and spoken English.
