Background

PENTECOSTAL ASSEMBLIES OF GOD WEST LANGO PASTORATE in partnership with Compassion International seeks for suitable applicants for a ministry vacancy that exist in the Pastorate as below:

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and monitors home-based care and parenting programs that promote holistic child development within the family unit.
  • Trains and mentors caregivers on child protection, nutrition, hygiene, early childhood stimulation, and positive parenting practices.
  • Conducts regular home visits to assess the living conditions, safety, and well-being of registered children and their families.
  • Identifies vulnerable households and designs appropriate interventions to address physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of children at home.
  • Facilitates the formation and strengthening of community support groups and caregiver networks for sustainable child care.
  • Maintains accurate records of home visits, assessments, and interventions, and prepares timely reports for the project director.
  • Collaborates with health, education, and sponsorship teams to ensure integrated support for children and families.
  • Organises community awareness campaigns on child rights, family values, and household economic strengthening.

He/she reports to the project director

Core duties and responsibilities:

Shall include and not limited to the following:

1- Serves as an advocate for children and caregivers.

2- Initiate and generates the annual health work plan and coordinates its implementation with emphasis on disease prevention among the project beneficiaries.

3- To identify illness and sickness in children and do referrals to a nearby health care services.

4- To carry out child assessment and do possible intervention to the beneficiaries.

Qualifications

- Must be a mature born-again Christian with a sound testimony (If married, attach the wedding certificate)

- Must have a bachelor degree or a diploma in any of the followings: social works and social administration, social sciences, developmental studies, education, communication, Guidance and Counselling, records management, nursing, community primary health care and any related disciplines.

- Must be computer literate.

- Must have good interpersonal skills.

- Good written and verbal communication skills.

- The willingness to adjust to the local language will be an added advantage.

- Age bracket 22-35.
