Forum for Women in Democracy (FOWODE) is a leading women’s rights organization established in 1995. Our vision is a just and fair society where women and men equally participate in and benefit from decision-making processes.

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic, creative, and experienced Communications Officer to join our passionate team at the FOWODE Head Office in Kampala. This role is critical in enhancing our visibility, public engagement, and advocacy efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Implementation: Execute FOWODE’s Communication Strategy and stay updated on the latest media trends and tools.
  • Content Creation: Collect, synthesize, and disseminate information to stakeholders through compelling storytelling.
  • Digital Presence: Manage and update FOWODE’s website and social media platforms to reflect our mission and achievements.
  • Branding: Ensure consistent, high-quality branding across all materials and platforms.
  • IEC Materials: Collaborate in developing Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials and visual content.

Qualifications & Skills:

  1. Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or Media Studies.
    • Postgraduate Diploma in a related field is an added advantage.
  2. Experience:
    • Minimum 3 years in a communications role, preferably within an NGO.
    • Proficiency in social media management, digital marketing, and design tools (e.g., Adobe Suite, Canva).
  3. Skills:
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling abilities.
    • Strong organizational skills for information collection, synthesis, and dissemination.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
