Background

We are looking for the Animal Feed Sales Executive/Manager who will be responsible for developing and expanding the market for animal feed products across assigned African regions.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve monthly/quarterly/yearly sales targets for animal feed products like DDGS.
  • Identify new business opportunities, distributors, wholesalers, and large farms (poultry, dairy, cattle, goat, fish).
  • Conduct field visits, market surveys, and competitor analysis.
  • Drive dealer appointments and expand distribution networks.
  • Promote key product lines: poultry feed, cattle feed, fish feed, mineral mixtures, supplements, premixes, etc.
  • Maintain strong relationships with farmers, feed distributors, agro-vets, and cooperatives.
  • Provide technical support and recommend suitable feed solutions based on animal type and farm size.
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Develop strategies to increase brand visibility and penetration across the region.
  • Identify high-potential markets (poultry clusters, dairy hubs, aquaculture zones).
  • Participate in agricultural exhibitions, trade fairs, and farmer meetings.
  • Conduct on-farm demonstrations and training sessions for farmers on feed usage, feeding schedules, and best practices.
  • Train distributors, retailers, and field staff on product knowledge.
  • Provide feedback to R&D/production teams about market needs and product performance.
  • Prepare weekly/monthly sales reports and forecasts.
  • Track sales performance region-wise and product-wise.
  • Ensure proper documentation for orders, credit control, and collections.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Veterinary Science, Agribusiness, or related field (preferred).
  • 5–15 years of experience in animal feed sales, agricultural inputs, livestock nutrition, or veterinary products.
  • Experience in African markets (East, West, Central, or Southern Africa) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of poultry, dairy, and livestock farming systems in Africa.
  • Ability to work independently with travel across rural and semi-urban markets.
