JOB DETAILS:

Job purpose:
The Supervisor will be primarily responsible for overseeing the collection of both qualitative and quantitative data collection and carrying out quality checks on the data collected.
Responsibilities:

The position holders shall be responsible for.
• Fieldwork preparation duties o Participate in a one-day training workshop for research assistants.
• Receive data collection tools (questionnaires).
• Participate in pretesting of the data collection tools.
• Fieldwork and data collection
• Work closely with in-charges of selected health Facilities during data collection.
• Participate in training and piloting of data collectors.
• Support data collectors in the identification and collection of data from eligible respondents.
• Supervise Qualitative and Quantitative data collection in selected health facilities.
• Perform study management activities based on the study protocol including getting consent and ensuring confidentiality.
• Review data collected for completeness and consistency on a daily basis
• Ensure storage of survey data and ensure successful handover to the study manager.
• Always keep the data and phones safe.
• After field visits
• Ensure that all data captured is always kept secure.
• Share every populated interview questionnaire with the Study Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
• A Minimum of a Master of Public Health or other medical-related field.
• A certificate in Research Ethics is desirable.
• Previous experience with supervision of quantitative and qualitative data collection on maternal newborn health, family planning, and immunization with a reputable research organization.
• Minimum of three (03) years’ relevant working experience is required
• Skills
• Familiarity with Kampala public and private health service provision/facilities is required.
• Ability to manage field teams of diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.
• Computer literate
• Ability to produce concise, informative, and appropriate written documentation.
• Ability to work independently as well as an effective team player

Level of Education:
Postgraduate Degree
