JOB DETAILS:
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Civil Engineering; or Construction Management; or any other related field plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants should be registered with a relevant professional body.

Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience of which three (3) must have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Engineering for performing the following duties:-
• Developing and monitoring the implementation of roads, drainages and bridges construction, street lights management and maintenance policies and procedures as per the Authority Mandate.
• Reviewing and approving road engineering designs and studies for operations and capital development works in accordance with engineering best practices and National design standards
• Coordinating the developing and maintenance of feeder roads as the Authority road construction plan
• Supervising the implementation of road, drainages and bridges construction and maintenance contract works in accordance with the terms and conditions of contracts
• Developing and implementing programs for routine and periodic road maintenance and works throughout the Authority
• Coordinating and controlling the development and implementation of departmental operational plans in accordance with the corporation strategic plans, policies and procedures
• Designing and coordinating the repair of the city motor vehicles and machinery in line with the Authority management policies
• Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
